Indian Dental Association celebrated World No Tobacco Day on 31st May, 2010 with the first citizen of Mumbai - Mayor Shraddha Jadhav, in the way of an awareness creating rally across the city. Students from various dental colleges of Mumbai participated in this rally, distributing education booklets and pamphlets among the public, educating the common man on the harmful nature of tobacco. With the WHO's theme for World No Tobacco Day this year being "Gender & tobacco with an emphasis on marketing to women", special focus was given to educating women. The rally began from the Mayors Bungalow and headed towards Bandra to go across the city. The Mayor and the Indian Dental Association together appealed to the public to make Mumbai smoke-free.
